Yesterday after dropping Laur to the airport, I drove down to pick up my brother and was delighted that the trip only took about 2/3 of the time it usually takes. My friend Heather was on campus helping host a high school track meet so I was treated with the opportunity of getting to see her briefly.
Today my brother got to visit Sunday school and church with me. I found the pastor's sermon challenging in light of who and what am I living for. I was also encouraged by his exhortation to see us become an evangelistic church and make a conscious effort to pray for and reach out to 3 people.
We napped too long and were late for the carol service but what little I caught I really enjoyed. I can't wait until next year's!

Following the service we headed over to Sunshine and Abigail's house for a surprise party. Abigail's birthday is right before Christmas so she never gets to celebrate so her roomates decided to throw her a surprise party.

Guests started filing in as we waited for her to make her way over. We were packed like sardines anxiously awaiting her arrival.
Boy was she surprised and excited!

Shortly after she arrived and made her way around greeting the guests the cake was brought out and she blew the candles.I couldn't stay very long because I had to be at work in the morning, but I must say, I rather like surprise parties!
