Saturday was my church's annual Ladies' Christmas Tea. I was delighted that my coworker Amanda would be able to accompany me. We were both very impressed by the elegance and atmosphere. I really enjoyed the tea and conversation. Our hostess was Cindy, one of my most favorite mothers at the church- I spent Thanksgiving day as a guest with her family. I learned something new about keeping Christmas trees lively looking too- put 7Up or Sprite in the water!

Following the tea I headed home to the Christmas brunch we were hosting at my house. I was delighted to see a baby carrier as soon as I walked in and started squealing "A baby! Is there a baby in the house?!! Where's the baby!" There was.
Delightful, glee-filled Simona was visiting with her parents. It was so funny because the last time I'd seen them last spring she was on the inside and now she was on the outside and she's just adorable! I think she's more fun now!
Some friends of mine from church, Mary, our last housie, and some of Ky's friends had showed up for the brunch and we got them started on a gingerbread house making contest (from graham crackers).

It was a lot of fun to watch.
I still can't believe how clever and creative they were!

After the incredibly ornate gingerbread houses were made
Laur and Ky doled out some very clever "Office"-related prizes.

Shortly thereafter people started filing out. Most of those who remained were big fans of The Office like my housemates and myself so we watched deleted scenes and public service announcements from season two.

Later, Ky, Laur and I watched Strictly Ballroom- that movie is so funny. Then we watched Beauty and the Beast my all time, favorite Classic, Disney princess movie. This made Laur and Ky reminisce on The Twelve Dancing Princesses and how it should be turned into a movie. I couldn't place the story so Ky and Laur amused themselves by reading it together aloud. I was entertained.

Today I made it to church in time for our prayer meeting prior to Sunday school. After the morning service I had to decline lunch with some friends and rush home because I'd left my pocketbook there and still had to purchase my Angel Tree gift. I was able to purchase the gift and make an exchange at Old Navy but with only an hour left I held off on the nap I so badly wanted before working in the nursery and did my lesson plans instead.

I had SO much fun in the nursery. I LOVE working with the toddlers. They're so much fun! One little girl I'd never worked with before and we were putting together a shape puzzle. When we got to the diamond she told me all about how her mother has a diamond but not her daddy and that when she gets married she's going to get a diamond. Well, she's got the right idea and a pretty good plan too. I had to show her which finger it was supposed to go on because she kept showing me the index finger of her right hand! She was just TOO cute!
