REPORTS OF JOY

I just finished my report cards for the term we just finished. Of course because my kids are so young, they're assessed on things like personal and social development e.g. uses self-control, works and plays well with others, respects authority expresses emotions in a socially acceptable manner, and work habits e.g. listens to and follows verbal directions, completes work steadily and on time and responsible for own belongings.

All that to say, I like assessments and report cards (though not necessarily the time needed to do and prepare them) because they force me to reflect on the change and progress I've seen in my students.

With each student, I found reason to be joyful and thankful for answered prayer and recalling the hard work/sowing I put into teaching, reinforcing concepts and skills, and/or character development. There were so many times where I was tired of doing the same thing (that I knew I SHOULD be doing because it was good) with no apparent results or being met with resistance at some points. In HIS kindness and faithfulness, I was sustained by grace and am now able to see that it is indeed paying off and yielding the desired fruit. It reminds me of that verse, Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.......... That was very timely encouragement, I hope it encourages you too!
