So after a VERY busy and intense month in Europe I got to spend a week with my one of my former CHBC pastor's families. His wife had discipled me after my last move until they moved back to the UK. It was SOOOOOO timely and relaxing!

It was good to see them and the kids again. They're growing so quickly, I couldn't believe how big the baby was! and after my time in Europe it was so peaceful and tranquil. It was supposed to be a survey trip to see if I thought I could handle living/moving there. Hannah had warned me that with my personality I might find the dreary and frequently rainy weather a bit of a problem. Can you believe it didn't rain ONCE during my trip and the weather was absolutely lovely? Sunshiny and no need for sweaters! Friends of theirs I met would tell me how uncommon the weather was and nice that I was visiting at this time and I'd always ask if she put them up to mentioning that to me! The funny thing though was right before I left to wait for my flight out to Central Asia, I ran over to another terminal to store my large suitcase and on the way back it had started raining! I thought it was very kind of the Lord to give me such lovely weather and a wonderful time of rest and rejuvenation in the sun and lusch greenery!

There were lots of delightful dishes that Hannah made like jelly rolls, quiche and coronation chicken. I wish I could say that I can now confidently make them or that I've even attempted but....... I got to try out Pims- yummy with kiwi and strawberries and I'm a fan.

While there, we'd go for strolls by the Thames river and to the park for the kids. Their daughter very much wanted me to see what she considered "the secret garden" and after a long search one afternoon on our way back from Hampton Court we finally found it.
We went for a visit to Fulham Palace where we had a lovely picnic lunch, attempted to go through a maze in teams (Abi and I won!) and meandered through the garden with ice cream treats.
I'm so thankful for this wonderful break and rest in my summer visit with them-it was lovely.
