ALMOST OVER
So my month or so here has quickly drawn to a close. It was quite challenging, humbling and altogether (a month ago I wouldn't have anticipated this being possible) rewarding. I've never quite had to struggle with getting adjusted to culture/language like I did on this trip. Ironically, this culture/language is probably MOST like the one I'm familiar with! In any event, I'm thankful that my Father chose to put me in a situation where I had no choice but to accept it as His will for me and daily and consistently lean on and depend on Him to enable me to not just make it through despite my inner angst but to learn to do so willingly and eventually with joy and gratitude while serving and leading others to do the same. I think it's truly a testimony to how amazing it is that He can and does choose to work in and through anyone and any situation to bring Himself glory.

I met some wonderful people that challenged and encouraged me. I did some new things like making crepes and reading and communicating in a language quite unfamiliar to me- I think it's amazing I was able to pronounce some of these words! I got to taste and try new things. I particularly enjoyed tasting and trying a few sweet treats-maybe a few too many! And I was constantly humbled by realizing that my life isn't my own and the sooner I realize that, submit to the one who controls and guides my life and trust Him to do what is best and enable me to love and obey Him, the better things will be not because things will get better but because He draws me nearer.
