Good times with old friends

So this week is a vacation in between terms. I headed with a colleague to visit a former colleague who had moved away for a few days. It was one flight to a big city with an international airport, then figuring out where and how to get a bus from that city to our friend's city. We figured it out. When we left here it was raining and so-VERY cold, I was surprised to find upon arriving there that it was raining and very cold. Thankfully, after another day it was just cold.

They moved to a smaller city/town. Less hustle and bustle but still a city. Their place is amazing and they have a gorgeous view of the ocean from their apartment. I made a comment about how they look like they're having a never-ending vacation because their home looks like a resort!

Tonight we went to a restaurant where we were treated to seafood. We each ordered a nice whole fresh fished to be cooked however we desired and were treated to multiple appetizers of seafood (calamari, pickled seaweed, shrimp salad etc.). By the time the actual fish got there I was almost stuffed (ALMOST). 2 of my friends put their fish heads on a saucer for me but before I could tackle them the waiter came and took it away! My friend had left hers on her plate so we made sure to put that one directly on my plate. I was having SUCH a good time eating that I didn't think to take pictures of the fantastic meal until I was almost done. Here's what's left of my fish and my 2 fish heads.

For dessert they gave us this yummy avocado-honey mix with walnuts and shredded coconut. I would never have thought to put avocado and honey together but it was so tasty. I'm looking out for avocado in the future to mix with agave or stevia and try to recreate that yummy fantasticness! Here's what was left for me before I finished tackling my fish heads. The whole thing was one of the THE most enjoyable 3-course dining experiences that I've had in a long time.
