I like the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Not just because they have a Cinnabon. Not just because their dining options are easily accessible AND they have airport maps posted that highlight dining and shopping options as well as where you are and all the possible terminals/gates you could be or want to be at. It's not even because they have complimentary listerine in the bathrooms and I am ALL about good dental hygiene!

I just got back in the country after what was supposed to be a quick, 2-day trip home that turned into a 1 week-long trip. It was a nice trip. I got to see my family and stayed with my best friend whom I haven't seen in about a year. I even got to make new friends and contacts. I was disappointed when I arrived and realized that there were 2 flights within 2 hours of my arrival and that I couldn't get on any of them because the airline has a policy that doesn't allow them to separate me from my baggage which means that I'll be back in the city some time after 9 tonight. Pending no further delays.

So it's nice to know especially after just receiving a call that I'm expected to be at a conference up north tomorrow through the rest of the week and don't know anything about my hotel or travel arrangements, that during my 5 hour layover this airport provides complimentary access to the internet. I can read Piper sermons, browse Boundless and catch up on some of my favorite blogs and maybe even make my reservations for tomorrow. And of course, I realize that I have way too many pictures and blog entries that have yet to be posted that I could work on updating it while I'm here.

Too bad I just realized I left my computer power cord across the ocean in another country................. Well, so far my Father has been faithful to provide a silver lining for each cloud. I can rejoice in knowing I'll be home in my own bed tonight, not missing anymore work and able to catch up tomorrow and I've got peace that even in the midst of all the inconveniences and setbacks my Father is in control and assurance that one day these things will no longer matter and I'll be in the presence of my Savior!

In the midst of everything that I've been processing and mulling over during the past few weeks my soul was calmed and comforted during my devotions this morning as I meditated on Ps. 85:11-12 and was reminded that He is a sun and Shield and that He bestows favor and honor. That there is NO good thing that He withholds from those who walk uprightly and the one who trusts in Him is blessed!
